Organisational Structure
The foundation is a registered NPO (Non-Profit Organisation) number 041-238 and also a PBO (Public Benefit Organisation) number 930 011 884
The Foundation has a board of directors that meets three times a year. It oversees and is responsible for the macro-frame work of the foundation and ensures that decisions are not only implemented but also adhered to. The chairperson of the board is presently Rev. C Appelo and can be contacted at friedenskirche@elksant.co.za or telephonically at +27 11 720 7011 +27 11 720 7011.
Day to day management of the Foundation is left to the manager. Mrs Nomava Kibare is the manager. The manager is assisted by an office manager, Ms Sophie Madonsela. Both can be reached telephonically at +27 11 720 7011 +27 11 720 7011. Mmane Sophie as she is affectionately called, does clerical duties and comes to the office three times a week.
Monthly meetings with staff are held to discuss matters pertaining to the various projects, but also to give space for staff to share their ideas, frustrations and wishes. This has proven to be a good exercise, because not only do the various projects learn more about each other, but relationships are fostered between the various clusters and thereby fostering a sense of community.
